We are seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Control Engineer to oversee and ensure the quality of plastic components produced through injection moulding processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of plastic materials, moulding machines, quality tools, and standards, ensuring that all products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and inspect incoming raw materials, in-process production, and final products for quality compliance.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards.
Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), In-Process Inspection, and Final Inspection.
Use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, profile projectors, and other precision tools.
Perform visual and dimensional inspection of plastic parts as per specifications and drawings.
Identify defects (e.g., short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, etc.) and work closely with the production team for corrective actions.
Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
Provide feedback to moulding operators and supervisors on quality issues.
Train shop floor personnel on quality standards and proper inspection methods.
Requirements:
Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in quality control in a plastic injection moulding environment.
Strong knowledge of plastic materials and injection moulding processes.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other quality management systems.
Proficiency in using quality tools and techniques (7 QC Tools, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with automotive or medical plastic components (if applicable).
Knowledge of ERP or quality management software.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
